Curcumin Shows A ‘Marked Improvement’ In Memory After One Dose

 

A study published in the Journal of Psychopharmacology that was shared at the Blackmores Institute Symposium has found that within a double blind four week trial of people aged 60-80, those who took curcumin showed a ‘marked improvement’ in their memory even after just one dose. They were also better able to cope with stress after four weeks.

Within a standardised test, the curcumin group were also found to be able to handle stress and anxiety when compared to a placebo group. The study funded by the American curcumin producer said the double blind placebo format made it reliable.

Other natural products after two decades of research have found that rosemary, sage, Chinese herb bacopa and B vitamin supplements can all assist with brain functioning. Curcumin has been shown for its promising ability to improve memory while reducing the effects of stress.
