Serrapeptase may seem like a mysterious ‘Miracle Enzyme’ with countless testimonials to its name thanks to the thousands of people around the world who have taken it and found it of benefit to their health condition. Yet the truth is often very simple. Here are 10 answers to clear any confusion around Serrapeptase…
1) Serrapeptase clears the way for the body to naturally heal itself
Think about when you cut your finger – the body’s cells naturally start healing themselves, closing the wound. Inflammation occurs at the site of the wound, as the finger starts healing. Within a few days the open wound is now closed, preventing further infection.
The same is true with chronic diseases. The trouble occurs when a large amount of inflammation is created and it becomes chronic. The result is consistent pain and symptoms, all signs that the body is struggling to overcome the inflammation, resulting in disease. Serrapeptase simply helps the body to clear the inflammation so you can overcome the painful symptoms.
2) Serrapeptase is an enzyme that ‘eats’ away the inflammation
As Serrapeptase is a proteolytic enzyme (known as the Serratia E15 enzyme), it dissolves inflammatory tissue within the body, leaving living tissue intact. Once the inflammation is safely dissolved, the body eliminates it via the liver or kidneys.
3) Serrapeptase is not actually made from silkworms
Traditionally, the Serratia enzyme is derived from the intestines of silkworms. It is now manufactured in a laboratory and cultivated on a plant base. So no silkworms are harmed, meaning serrapeptase is vegetarian and vegan friendly.
4) Serrapeptase is safe and has no known side effects
Serrapeptase is perfectly safe to use for people of all ages and health conditions. Regardless of your health, Serrapeptase can clear inflammation, allowing healing to naturally occur. Any issues that a person may experience with serrapeptase can usually be attributed to a clearing effect. This means that the body is going through a clearing process and will soon be experiencing improved health once the symptoms disappear.
5) Yes, doctors do prescribe Serrapeptase
It may not be recommended by doctors in the USA or the UK due to the Western model of medicine focusing on Big Pharma…but that’s because they’ve never heard of it. Serrapeptase has been prescribed by some doctors in Germany and Japan for over 25 years who are aware of its natural healing properties.
6) Benefits a wide range of health conditions
Everything from lung health, headaches, adhesions, cysts, arthritis, cardiovascular disease, back pain, knee pain and various other problems can all benefit from taking Serrapeptase. Due to its anti-inflammatory effects, the symptoms of pain, swelling, flare-ups, mucus, coughing etc can improve giving relief.
7) Serrapeptase heals animals too
The Serrapeptase enzyme is highly effective on animals. Many vets prescribe Serrapeptase to heal their pets and to prevent internal and external scarring, along with other inflammatory problems. By digesting the scar tissue, the healthy tissue eventually replaced the old scar. While the scarring wasn’t completely eradicated, it did improve considerably. Serrapeptase has been used to much success with healing cats, dogs, horses and all kinds of small animals.
8) Yes, serrapeptase can be taken with other medications and supplements
It is safe to take Serrapeptase with any kind of medication or supplements. Yes, it is also safe to take with Warfarin and may even improve your cardiovascular health so you do not need to take it.
9) Serrapeptase does not need to be enterically coated to be effective, or at risk of being destroyed by stomach acid
There are no studies showing that non-enteric coated Serrapeptase is not as effective or that it doesn’t work as well. There is misinformation showing that you need to take twice the amount of non-coated serrapeptase as compared to enteric coated to get the same effect. Yet all studies that have looked into the effectiveness of serrapeptase over the past 30 years have used enteric coated.
10) Yes, serrapeptase can dissolve internal scar tissue
It’s recommended to take Serrapeptase for 3-6 weeks to dissolve any internal scar tissue and to ensure that it’s completely clear. This makes serrapeptase the ideal solution for abdominal scar tissue that remains after surgical procedures.

Can I get Serrapeptase that IS from silk worms? I have a bad yeast & mushroom intolerance and cannot get on with Serrapeptase and now I see why, if it is grown on fungi
There is no fungi in the finished product, so it is fine to use if one has a yeast or mushroom intolerance. There may be some other underlying digestive system imbalances that are affecting their response. Furthermore, I am not aware of any serrapeptase that is now cultivated direct from the silkworm as it is all harvested in the same way.
Is it imperative that serapeptase be taken on an empty stomach…i.e. 30 minutes before eating or 2 hpurs after eating.
What is the appropriate dose, as in mg. or units per kg of body weight.
I have asked these question nbefore but have never received a reply. I have also asked via telephone…and whomever answered the phone did not know the answers.
Hopefully, one day I shall get a reply to a question I feel is important…particularly the dosage.
Yes it is important to take Serrapeptase on an empty stomach. 30 minutes before or 2 hours after food is a general guideline. If you have the enzyme with food it will start to work on digestion and be weakened before it reaches the small intestines for absorption in to the rest of the body. There are no set guidelines for body weight. We go on need first and foremost. Generally the serrapeptase dosage we recommend is 2 capsules, 3 times daily, therapeutically, and for maintenance 1 x 3.
Will the enzyme dissolve plaque in the arteries? If so, what would be the dosage amount and frequency needed to achieve that goal and how would one determine if it’s really working? Thanks.
Yes it can help with plaque in arteries. Look at Blockbuster AllClear and follow the plan… https://goo.gl/tiqG72
Dear Robert I contacted you a few months ago regarding high blood pressure and the fact
I was taking blood pressure medication to control it,and I asked if I could take the
product Blockbuster All Clear on the same day now the answer I received wouldn’t commit
one way or another. But I notice from your questions above number 8 that in the event of
high blood pressure you can take Serrapeptase with any kind of medication or supplements
so since my original query has more research been done on this subject hence your answer
in any case please let me know regarding this, thanking you.
Serrapeptase doesn’t interact with any other medication or nutrients. We advise to take at least 4 hours apart from any mediation to avoid any interaction upon digestion regardless of any contraindications. We would advise more caution with Blockbuster due to the combined effects of the nutrients within the formula, so would recommend starting on a low dose and working up slowly, whilst monitoring your progress.
I take 4milli grammes of candasartan daily for high blood pressure.also I use serranol.what is the recommended time gap if any?. thank you.
Chris Hyde
Hi Chris, we can advise that we have not found any potential interactions with Serranol and Candesartin, as checked on a reliable public database for educational purposes. We advise to keep all meds and supplements apart, by at least 1 hour, to avoid any interaction upon digestion, regardless of any contraindications.
I am having crohn’s from last 10 years and deal with acute inflammation, cramps and flare up. Is serrapeptase going to be helpful and what dosage?
Thanks
Hi Loveleen, this really requires a full plan, and serrapeptase is one part of the recommendations.

I started and it seems to be causing reflux..even at 10,000 units. can some with sensitive stomachs not tolerate it?
Hi Jason, try adding a pinch of bicarb to a small amount of water before you take the serrapeptase to help reduce stomach acidity, or alternatively try adding the serrapeptase to a little non-protein food such as applesauce to help coat the stomach.

I have been taking Wobenzym for about 5 years. Does this product (Serrapeptase) do the same things? I use it for a cranky back, would this be duplicating the Wobenzym?
Hi Ed, Serrapeptase, bromelain and papain are all proteolytic enzymes which help to accelerate the break down and digestion of proteins. Bromelain and papain, are enzymes derived from pineapple and papaya, respectively, whilst Serrapeptase, originally found in the gut of the silk worm, is now produced commercially using a special strain of the Serratia marcescences bacteria. Whilst they are all have purported health benefits, Serrapeptase is arguably the most powerful of all the proteolytic enzymes with its ability to dissolve non-loving proteins in the body and clear inflammation. You can of course use them in conjunction with one another, but many people find the benefits of serrapeptase to be enough on its own.
Serrapeptase has been very effective for me. I started taking it once a day 80,000 for 3 months then went to a maintenance dose everyday at 40,000. I had many surgeries on my feet and couldn’t wear normal shoes. I do now and walk a mile in hilly terrain several times a week. I also was diagnosed with a frayed meniscus. I aggressively used cold pack for 20 min at least 6x’s a day plus the Serra. No need for surgery and that was a yr ago. My daughter introduced it to me as she had a cyst. She was treated with antibiotics and steroids and it did nothing for her. She found Serra. on the internet. Within 24 hrs the redness went away and a few weeks later it was all gone never to return.
I take 1 Probiotic Am. I Betaine & Pepsin with my main meal, my digestion is much improved. I attended the Chest Clinic for two years, the various prescription medicines made me worse. I was discharged when I refused to take Antibiotics and Steroids for life In January 2017, I got an inflammatory chest infection and took Antibiotics for seven days. The infection cleared, my health deteriorated, I had great difficulty breathing, racing heart, swelling etc. Two weeks later I started Curcumin x4000, within six weeks there was a vast improvement in my lungs, I can now breath deeply, been impaired all my life. Swelling in my Legs together with blood clots have gone. However, I’ve still got inflammation from the sinus area which is refluxing into my eyes, I have been diagnosed with Fuchs’ Corneal Dystrophy. I have found that when I take ½ a teaspoon of Sodium Bicarbonate for several nights it alkalises the acid reflux (inflammation) from the sinus-is, pain and watering in the eyes, stops. My Question. Would Serrapeptase help eliminate this inflammation, and if so should I continue to take Curcumin x4000. I’m loath to stop this as it has and is continuing to be so good for my circulation.
Hello Jean, yes you are fine to take the Curcuminx4000 and serrapeptase, and in fact we combine the two ingredients, alongside vitamin D and Ecklonia Cava, in the formula Serranol available from http://www.goodhealthnaturally.com
Serrapeptase can be a good addition to your protocol to help clear the inflammation in the sinuses. It also supports respiratory health by thinning mucus in the body making it much easier to expel.

I can only afford one product and I bought the Block Buster All Clear but now I’m not sure it will work for the condition I wanted it for. Can it clear out artery gunk? How should I take it to do this? Someone told me that if I take the BlockBuster AllClear and suddenly stop it I can cause a blood clot as could happen with Warfarin or other meds. Is this true? Thank you!
Hello Cathy, Blockbuster Allclear is recommended to help clear the arteries and support overall cardiovascular health. Take 2 caps 3 x per day for the first month, reducing to 1 x 3 thereafter. To improve outcomes, ensure the diet is as clean as possible, and free from sugars and starchy carbs. You can view more recipe ideas at http://www.reallyhealthyfoods.com

There is no increased risk of clotting when stopping Blockbuster. An unhealthy body, diet and lifestyle increase the risk factors.
I hope that helps
