Health News (Week 03 – 2018)
By Robert Redfern
Every week I consider the topic for my newsletter by looking at the news/media and the emails I see from desperate people hoping for a quick fix. I could send a newsletter out every day as the news is full of confusing science about health and those who I get to speak to tell me it makes their heads spin trying to make sense of it.
Recently in my own neighbourhood, young men in their 50s/early 60s have died. My next-door neighbours, a lovely couple, have had to go into care as the lady has Alzheimer’s and her husband has heart problems. How I would love to have helped them before it got too bad but I learned a long time ago I could only help those who have asked for my help.
This week I also had the lady from Amsterdam in Holland asking for help with her mother who has fibrosis of the lungs. Unfortunately, she only wanted to know how many SerraEnzyme to give her and appeared to ignore the rest of my diet advice.
So many people do not know that recovery is achievable by following a full health and lifestyle plan. In the case of men who may not always look after their health, I am getting increasing numbers of them emailing me directly.
My Men’s Health Book is a total plan for men to get healthy from almost any condition – and of critical importance is the prostate.
Recently, a long-time customer wrote to me about his wife’s father who has prostate cancer. Being a healthy man, with a healthy prostate, these emails always catch my attention as I know the advice and treatment by doctors is suspect.
INFORMATION YOU NEED ABOUT PROSTATE TREATMEANTS:
Risks from Radiotherapy– Prostate cancer when accompanied by radiotherapy can increase the risk of secondary cancers by almost 70% according to new research published in the British Medical Journal.
PSA Test May Be Useless– Another example of useless is the PSA test offered by the medical system. I have always believed research that claimed this was not reliable but now it is official. An authoritative study published recently by the US Preventative Task Force (USPSTF) showed that the PSA test is unreliable and any claimed benefits are outweighed by the potential harm. Their research showed three important facts you need to be aware of: PSA screen has a high rate of false warning readings, leading to a high rate of complications from biopsies, and a high risk of over-diagnosis and over treatment with their known side effects. Do nothing, that’s what the USPSTF recommends for most cases. Yes, they say in most cases it is best to do nothing. I guess they mean do nothing if there are no alternatives. I hope that is what they mean.
MRI Scans Are the Best Way– to diagnose prostate problems and cancer as well as ascertaining the recovery (or not) of any treatments. Demand one or go private.
Thermography Is Good – Thermography is taking picture with a thermographic imaging camera and is a simple and inexpensive way to check your prostate and whole body and then if anything is found you can then demand an MRI.
WHY AM I GIVING YOU THIS INFORMATION?
I don’t want to go into the horrendous detail but suffice to say many men are devastated by how they are left after medical treatments for their prostate and tell me they wished they had never gone down the medical route as a first step. The main thing I want to get across in this email is that by following a healthy lifestyle, a healthy prostate can always be achieved.
Most men don’t think about their prostate until they begin to experience symptoms such as urinary difficulty or the need to dash to the bathroom every few hours.
These are signs of an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia, BPH) or of prostatitis (inflamed prostate), two common prostate problems. Prostate health may also be an issue for men who are having problems with fertility or erectile dysfunction.
Approximately 1 in 3 men over 40 have prostate problems (or associated) and 1 in 13 men will have something serious.
Nearly 1,000,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer each year in the western industrialized countries although this is a suspect number as the PSA tests are also suspect. I believe these tests are pushed so the cancer business can claim a high success rate with their treatments, even though the men may not have had cancer in the first place.
Anyone can claim to cure cancer when there was no cancer present. The cancer tests I recommend above is Thermography and this is a new safe and accurate test that can detect the tumour because there is a higher level of sugar in tumours. A Healthier Prostate in 30 Days
Facts:
- Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of death in men.
- The medical opinion is virtually useless – using tests such as PSA, physical examination and now MRA.
- Treatments are also not very effective (they have many side effects) and they never address the causes of the enlargement or cancer.
- A healthy prostate is important at all ages as the prostate plays a part infertility as well as sexual function.
- Your healthy strong functional old age depends on getting healthy.
What is the Prostate?
Most men (and women) have heard of the prostate but have no idea what it is for or where it is precisely. It is critical that you do know. For young men it is vital for fertility, and in older men it’s especially important for good health and sexual function.
Life will be very miserable later on if you do not get yourself clued up about prostate health. The prostate is a gland (about the size of a walnut) that surrounds your waterway (Urethra) as it exists on your bladder. It produces most of the alkaline fluid that carries the man’s sperm during ejaculations.
Most healthy young men (those on a healthy diet, who do not sit for long periods and consume moderate amounts of alcohol) will have a healthy fluid flow, especially in their early twenties. For clarity, a healthy diet is low in starchy high sugar foods and high in healthy fats with critical nutrients such as Zinc, Iodine, Vitamin E, Copper and Selenium to name a few.
The sad truth is that the diet of the majority of men is a modern junk foods diet lacking in these critical nutrients. The bad news for all of us, is men’s sperm count is dropping like a stone (30% over the past 25 years). That is bad enough but the prostate problems including cancer that await those on this diet are much worse.
What Goes Wrong?
The majority on a poor lifestyle will see their prostate start to enlarge after age 25 but not enough to cause problems…
This growth is called Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) and it is the most common cause of prostate enlargement. It is a benign condition that may not present any symptoms for many years.
Eventually, symptoms of BPH may include:
- A hesitant, interrupted, or weak urine stream
- Urgency, leaking or dribbling
- A sense of incomplete emptying during or after urination
- More frequent urination, especially at night
- Possible erectile dysfunction (ED)
The other main problem is a condition called Prostatitis, which can occur at any age. This can take various forms but the symptom that causes the pain is the inflammation. The main cause is an infection and I am in no doubt this is caused by the high carb/sugar diet and a lack of healthy nutrients.
Lastly, a very good reason for taking care of the prostate is the fact that prostate cancer kills 3% of the male population (compared to 2% for breast cancer). It is the second highest rate of death for males with cancer, is increasing…and may one day be the highest.
Critical
Prostate health is not at the top of the list for problems but it may be critical in that an unhealthy prostate can make life a misery for men and if not addressed, it can be a killer. It is needed by young men to help fertility and older men to keep them healthy and for maintaining sexual function. The option to go to the doctors is always open but since they are bound by official tests and treatments that can be both useless and horrendous, it takes a brave man to follow their advice.
Useless
An example of uselessness is the PSA test offered by the medical system. I have always believed the research that claimed this was not reliable but now it is official.
An authoritative study published recently by the US Preventative Task Force (USPSTF) showed that the PSA test is unreliable and any claimed benefits are outweighed by the potential harm. Researchers in Europe say their findings are the same.
Their research showed three important facts you need to be aware of: PSA screen has a high rate of false warning readings, leading to a high rate of complications from biopsies, and a high risk of over-diagnosis and overtreatment with their known side effects.
Do Nothing?
That’s what the USPSTF recommends for most cases. Yes, they say in most cases it is best to do nothing. I guess they mean do nothing if there are no alternatives. I hope that is what they mean.
What Can I Do To Achieve and Maintain a Healthy Prostate?
If you have symptoms, then you can ‘try’ to get a diagnosis from a doctor. My opinion is that doctor’s diagnosis may be wrong and offer no treatments that will get your prostate healthy. The many side effects of the treatments on offer by the doctors can include ED (erectile dysfunction) and cancer.
Simply walking 5 miles per day and not sitting for more than 3 hours per day improves your overall health. Drinking 6 x 500ml glasses of water over the day and adding a pinch of bicarbonate of soda is another good habit.
Since it is bad diet and lack of critical nutrients that is a major cause of the problems, then it is logical that solving the cause will involve diet and lifestyle, and that this does solve it. Obviously, a healthy diet is critical and you can see mine here: www.ReallyHealthyFoods.com.
Even then unless you include a high level of nutrient-rich foods such as seafood(s), shellfish (such as oysters) and seaweed, the only solution is supplements. The good news is that nutrients are well studied and shown to be successful at restoring and maintaining a healthy prostate.
Enlarged prostate, Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) (also healthy fertility) needs a little more attention and great success has been shown with beta-sitosterol rich nutrients.
I designed a formulation that contains all of the essential nutrients men need for a healthy prostate from scientific studies.
I do not have enough room to include all of the studies but they are all very important, independent, and include: Saw Palmetto Fruit Extract, Vitamin D, Vitamin E, Beta-Carotene, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B6, Vitamin D3, Copper, Selenium, Nettle Root, Uva Ursi (BearBerry), Graminex, Pollen, L-Glycine, L-Alanine, Lycored (Lycopene), Ginseng, Asparagus Extract, Blessed Thistle, Fenugreek Extract, Cayenne Powder and Marshmallow Root. All of these can be found in Prostate Plus, click here for more information.
