Health News (Week 29 – 2013)
By Robert Redfern
Thank you for all of your good wishes for our vacation. We really did have a lovely time and Anne is already planning the next one!
I managed to catch up with some reading when away and whilst I know the importance of low Homocysteine (FYI, mine is bang on the perfect ‘6 micromolar’) it really came home to me when looking at the astounding studies that are pouring out of good & honest independent researchers.
I know I touched upon this in a previous newsletter but had to revist it because it really is that important!
Drug company’s studies are all suspect (they have a financial interest and since they have a record of paying huge fines for their criminal like fraudulent activities); only researchers without financial links can be trusted.
The importance of homocysteine as a marker for health and wellbeing is now very well established which makes it high negligent that your doctors not to offer a test every 5 years (at least).
There are an increasing number of studies, including the recent ones that I read whist away, that show that homocysteine to be a predictor of potential health problems. Raised blood homocysteine levels can predict the development of:
- Heart Disease
- Alzheimer’s
- Dementia
- Female fertility and miscarriages
- Strokes (in older people even better than any usual measure of risk including cholesterol, blood pressure or smoking)
- Raised levels of homocysteine have also been implicated in declining memory, poor concentration and judgement and lowered mood
The good news it is that raised homocysteine levels can usually be brought back to normal levels by simple dietary changes and / or supplementation with B vitamins.
Quite easily.
It is essential that you get it tested to identify any nutritional requirements and then to monitor dietary changes to ensure that acceptable homocysteine levels are reached.
Every year is worthwhile to reach your target.
Every 5 years is fine once you hit your target of ‘6’, if you stick to your plan.
How do I achieve the perfect 6? There are two ways:
1.Eat my really healthy foods diet and take Prescript Assist. Probiotics are a critical part of B Vitamin metabolism. See the diet plan here Shop here for Prescript Assist
2. Or the really fast way is sublingual B4Health Spray. This ensures all of the vitamins are absorbed under the tongue (rather than get lost in the intestines as with B vitamin tablets). Shop here for B4 Health Spray This is as good as it gets in helping to keep homocysteine at bay.
There are a few people who may need regular injections of B12 as they get older. B4Health will resolve this need and stabilise energy levels.
PS. The medical Journal ‘Stroke’ suggests that even moderate rises in homocysteine levels lead to a ‘fivefold increase in the risk of stroke’ and ‘triple the risk of Alzheimer’s’.
