Should we eat wheat or not in order to stay healthy?
Nutritionalist and Health Care coach Robert Redfern says yes, we need to eat grains, but it needs to be the right kind. Sprouted grains are grains, such as wheat, barley, rye, that are allowed to sprout before processing into food and thus remain “living.”
Mass industrial production of grains stop the growth before sprouting and therefore toxins within the grain are left to negatively affect our bodies, Redfern said. Those toxins are released and harmless once the grains sprout and therefore the grain becomes a good source of nutrients, he said.
It is important to eat only sprouted grains, Redfern said, instead of the more dominant processed flour. You can purchase sprouted grain bread flour online from many stores and make your own bread or you can purchase sprouted grain bread in the freezer section of most supermarkets.
