Being a healthy, fit and active 67 year old I have a great interest in all aspects of health and my prostate health is high on my list of concerns. It is of particular concern as I have had many emails from men (and their wives) detailing the terrible treatment they received at the hands of the medical system.

I don’t want to go into the horrendous detail but suffice to say many men are devastated how they are left after this treatment and tell me they wished they had never gone the medical route as a first step. The main thing I want to get across in this email is that by following a healthy lifestyle, a healthy prostate can always be achieved.

Most men don’t think about their prostate until they begin to experience symptoms, such as urinary difficulty or the need to dash to the bathroom every few hours. These are signs of an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia, BPH) or of prostatitis (inflamed prostate), two common prostate problems. Prostate health may also be considered for men who are having problems with fertility or for erectile dysfunction.

Approximately 1 in 3 men over 40 have prostate problems (associated) and 1 in 13 men will have something serious.

Nearly 1,000,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer each year in the western industrialized countries although this is a suspect number as the PSA tests are also suspect. I believe these tests are pushed so the cancer business can claim a high success rate with their treatments, even though the men may not have had cancer in the first place. This use of suspect tests also applies to breast screening for women. I will cover breast cancer next month.

Anyone can claim to cure cancer when there was no cancer.

How do I suggest you prevent prostate problems and stay healthy? !

Simple, follow this healthy lifestyle and reduce your risk by 63% or more:

  1. Stop consuming all meat that is not organic, i.e. meat raised on grains, soya, corn, chemicals and other drugs. You are 40% more likely to get prostate cancer if you consume industrial meats.
  2. Stop or seriously limit read meats and all meats that are BBQ’d as these are both shown to increase risk.
  3. Stop consuming processed milk and cheese. Consuming raw milk and cheese might be safe but studies have not yet confirmed this.

  8. Eat oily fish such as salmon/sardines 3 times per week (reduces risk by 63%)
  9. Include critical missing minerals to your daily diet such as Iodine, Selenium, Zinc and copper to name a few.
  10. Eat at least 10 portions of greens and dark skinned fruits daily, consider ‘juicing’.
